For those of you who take a look at matthewmaxey.com from time to time,
you are no doubt aware that nothing has changed here for quite some time
- until recently. I am pleased to say that after many weeks of planning
and redesigns, I have finally launched Matthew Maxey Motorsports version
2.0.
First and foremost, I want to welcome you to the new site. I apologize for
not bringing news to you on a regular basis; however the lack of updates
is not due to lack of news. Many things have been going on since the last
articles were posted, and you will soon be brought up to speed.
To visitors who have stumbled across my website for the first time, thank
you very much for stopping by. I invite you to take the time to browse all
of the information, articles, and photographs at your leisure. I hope you
enjoy your time here and check back often.
Over the past two years, I've had the opportunity to "work" in the
professional motorsports industry as a Data Acquisition Engineer for several
teams, most notably TPC Racing, a championship GT class Porsche 911 team in
the Grand American Rolex Series and the 2006 winner of the Rolex 24 at
Daytona. I say work in quotation marks because I feel that I've been doing
the second most fun activity I could possibly do in the sport of auto racing.
The number one activity is of course driving a car on race day. Data
acquisition engineering is challenging, tedious, stressful at times, and fun
- I cannot call it work. Ultimately, it is the reason for my newly redesigned website. My
professional motorsports engineering experience has allowed me to provide my
services on a customer basis for those who want to improve their results on
the track using the technology and mathematical know-how involved in data
engineering.
I am still working towards being behind the wheel of a purpose-built race car
in the near future, and I have not put this plan on hold because of my
engineering studies or my occupation. I will once again be continuing my "triple
duty" routine: school, driving, and motorsports engineering. I am currently in
the process of seeking out sponsorship options to place myself in a purpose
built race car for 2007.
Once again, welcome to the new Matthew Maxey Motorsports.
Thank you for checking me out and please feel free to
leave me a note on my guestbook to let me know what you
think.
Sincerely,
Matthew A. Maxey
